"Kate and Gavin's house is a dream and every day in Azille was an outstanding experience. The days flew by and we had a hard time saying goodbye."  (guest review)

Welcome to our delightful three bedroom maison du village (gîte) available for vacation rental in the small town of Azille.  Azille is a beautiful, historic and friendly town close to the Canal du Midi and many other attractions and activities in the area and the wider Languedoc region.

Our holiday home away from home is situated in the old centre of Azille in a quiet street.  Well over 300 years old, the house has been tastefully renovated to retain period features and a rustic ambiance, combined with comfortable modern living.  It provides great holiday accommodation with 3 large bedrooms sleeping up to a maximum 6 guests, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and several internal living areas.  Our house has lots of private outside space, with a large courtyard at the back of the house and a first floor terrace overlooking the courtyard - all completely to yourself.  Enjoy a splendid relaxed lunch in the courtyard or end your day on the terrace with a refreshing drink.

"Everything from start (booking) to leaving (with regret) was perfect.... Azille is so close to so many places - we had wonderful day excursions."  (guest review)

Azille Maison is situated in the Minervois wine producing region and there are many things to do and see in the surrounding area. Azille sits within the Pays Cathare - Cathar Trail. Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers and Mediterranean beaches are all nearby, and the historic Cathar fortress town of Minerve is very close. The Canal du Midi is 2 kilometres away, the Black Mountains (Montagne Noir) rise fairly close behind Azille, and there are starting points for the Camino trail nearby.

Toulouse, Perpignan, Montpellier and the attractions of Nîmes in Gard and Avignon in Provence are all within easy reach. The Pyrénées and Spain are 2 hours drive and Barcelona is less than 3 hours away by train and car, and Barcelona airport (El Prat) is the international airport nearest our house that takes intercontinental  flights from worldwide departure points. Find us on the map at: Azille Map. Azille has two restaurants and a small market, and there are weekly markets in nearby towns as well as regular bric-a-brac and antique markets in the area. For wine lovers there are many places to taste and buy wine including two wineries in Azille itself. In addition to the many sightseeing opportunities, activities available in the local area include bike riding, walking / hiking, swimming, cruising the Canal du Midi, wine tasting, playing petanque, shopping, browsing markets, cooking with the fresh seasonal ingredients, and enjoying the cafe and restaurant life of the area.  "This well maintained home had all the needed amenities with a great private courtyard. The 2 minute walk away Boulangerie had superb croissants to start the day and tempting artistic pastries for afternoon tea. An ideal spot for family vacation or to have a leisurely holiday with a few friends. Enjoy the genuine French ambiance as the bells toll in this charming village."  (2015 guest review)
